The Madeira Christmas Triples winners

The past week was certainly a busy one for all concerned at Madeira, writes Jenny Charles.

Taking pride of place amongst the action was the Christmas Triples meeting in which 57 ladies and gentlemen took part.

The action ran over two days, during which time each team played four games, each of six ends.

There was plenty of light-hearted banter throughout and it all ended with the four highest scoring teams going into the semi-finals prior to two teams meeting to determine the overall winners.

The final was played between Graham Clarkson, Gill Morrish and John Sweetman, who battled it out against Deirdre Norman, Trevor Morrish and Barry Atkins with Graham’s team winning by 17 shots to nine.

Thanks are due to the organisational skills of Richard Prince, ably supported by Deirdre Norman, the pair delivering another superbly organised event that is always so well supported by members.
