The Madeira men’s representative teams have done well this year reaching the quarter-final of the County Top Club and the semi-final of the County Double Rink, both of which rounds were played against Torquay Kings with both being played at Madeira, writes Jenny Smith.

As so often is the case, it was very much a case of ‘swings and roundabouts’.

Madeira were successful in the morning when they played the quarter final winning by three points to two which means they now faced a semi-final this coming Sunday (September 2) at Torquay where they will face Pennycross.

However, in the afternoon in the semi-final of the double rink Madeira were disappointed to lose on both rinks.

Meanwhile, all eyes are on Leamington this week where Aaron Southgate is playing in the two-wood national finals.
