There have only been a few friendly matches this past week for Madeira bowlers, writes Jenny Charles.

In a match against Isca there was an overall success with the highest scoring team for Madeira being Richard Prince, Margaret Humphries and Victor Doidge, with a very good 22-9 win.

Sidmouth came to visit; all three rinks had a very enjoyable game, but on this occasion Sidmouth were the winners.

We shall look forward to meeting them again in the new year.

If reading this makes you think you would like to try bowls, please come along in the new year on any Friday at 4:30pm. What awaits you is a typically warm Sidmouth welcome and you may well find that you discover just how enjoyable the noble sport of bowls can be, both from a playing and socialising point of view.
