Lympstone boxers Harry Webb and Oliver Kitchen had warm up bouts at the weekend in preparation for the club’s home tournament this Saturday (October 12), writes Neil Parsons.
Webb featured on the Tiverton ABCs tournament at the Heathcoat Social club and met the home clubs Corey Westbrook.
Webb had a bad day and never really got into the bout which turned out to be a rather drab affair with neither boxer seeming to be willing to engage the other and ended with Westbrook awarded a majority decision.
Webb features in a return with Westbrook’s team mate Alex Jones on Saturday, the pair met on the last Lympstone show in October with Jones winning a majority verdict, Webb will have to up his game considerably if he is to turn the tables on the Tiverton boxer.
Ollie Kitchen, 21-years-old and 79 Kgs travelled to Bideford on Sunday to top the bill against the hosts club’s National Champion Billy ‘The Kidd’ Stanbury.
Kitchen caused a massive upset by landing a unanimous points decision and now looks forward to more success on Saturday’s bill.
