Lympstone boxer Andrew Wheeler continued his winning ways on a recent bill at Burnham-on-Sea, writes Ian Parsons.
The 14-year-old (104kg) took on Ben Hancock from Fitness Factory ABC Sheffield on the King Alfred ABC Tournament bill.
Hancock, also 14, had the greater weight at 106 kgs, and was straight onto the offensive from the first bell, but was met with some heavy straight lefts from the Lympstone boxer.
Both fighters landed heavy blows, but a terrific left hook towards the end of the round from Wheeler had the Sheffield boxer requiring a standing count and was undoubtedly then saved by the bell!
The Wheeler assault continued from the start of the second and after a number of body-crunching blows the referee stepped into to save the Sheffield fighter further punishment.
