Woodbury 4, Tedburn St Mary 0
Woodbury recorded one of their biggest wins of the year with a powerful all-round display.
The first shot of the game came from the visitors, but Wayne Rowsell in the Woods goal, was equal to it.
Sam Glanvill-Ford was close to opening his Woodbury account before, in the final minute of the first half, Dave Allen and Peter Wright combined prior to Craig Leaman powering a shot home from 35-yards.
After the break Woodbury began to play with more confidence and in the 50th minute Dan Fulls doubled the lead after fine play from Karl Smith.
With Richie Ralph and Pete Wright controlling midfield Woodbury too full control.
Fulls scored his second and just after the hour mark Karl Smith scored his first for the club to make it 4-0.
Andy Bennett, starting a game for the first time since March, was replaced by Jonny Killick making his first appearance in the Woodbury first team for 12 months and Kirk Pond also came on for his first appearance for two years!
Woodbury saw the game out in some comfort and boss Adam Reid said: “It was impressive stuff. Wayne Rowsell was solid in between the sticks. Sam Glanvill Ford put in another sterling performance, Bennett looked well organised and Fullsy
and Smith looked like they began to work together as a partnership. However, for me the Man of the Match has to be Dave Allen who came in at the eleventh hour and controlled things at the back. I remain confident that we will do well this year.”
