Lympstone Veterans XI exacted revenge for the club on Tedburn St Mary with a 3-2 triumph in a Devon County Veterans League game.
Twenty four hours before the Lympets Fresha League side were edged out by the odd goal in five against Tedburn St Mary.
In the Vets’ game the Lympets had trailed 2-0 before a James Beverley double was followed by a superb goal from the legendary Lenny Jones to seal a 3-2 success.
The day before the Lympets Fresha League side also fell two behind.
However, a disallowed goal for off-side seemed to provide the spark they needed and they were back in the contest via a 30-yard free-kick, bent into the top corner by Aaron Lane. They then drew level with a well-worked goal from Mark Dunne.
Just the one goal was scored after the break with the visitors netting.
The last 15 minutes saw the Lympets throw everything at the Mid Devon side without any success.
On Saturday Lympstone go to Newtown whilst the Lympets Reserves host Halwill.
