With a number of fixtures falling victim to the poor weather, this has been a quiet week for all at Cricket Field Lane.

However, the short journey to Exmouth allowed a three-rink mixed friendly to be played at Madeira and on this occasion Budleigh returned with a victory.

Credit can be equally shared with skips John Dill and Burges Stace, both winning by two shots.

Richard Cooper’s rink snatched an eighteen-all draw by taking a single on the last end leaving the final; score at Budleigh 58 Madeira 54

Further results in the early rounds of the Club’s singles championship include a win for Terry Escott.

Meanwhile, John Dill won an epic battle against Peter Burch on the 25th end, with the lead having changed hands on five occasions.
