The Exmouth Jesters II team have started this season’s campaign with three wins out of three beating both Crediton Chargers and Exeter College on the road before playing there first game at home against Crewkerne Thunder, writes Graham Grove.
The performance in the Crewkerne encounter was comfortably the Jesters finest of the campaign to date and saw them to an emphatic 107-29 success.
From the start Exmouth took control of the game with some excellent passing and movement in attack.
The score ticked over at a steady pace.
However, in the second quarter the whole team stepped up the pace and started to fire in baskets from all angles finishing the half 59-12.
The second half proved too much for the visiting team as Exmouth took the game beyond any doubt of a win and scored at will against a poor defence.
There were some good performances by all the squad members, but Matt Cuthbert in the centre position broke the club record for points scored in a game with a massive 44 points total. This beat the previous club record which he set in the previous game!
Exmouth Jesters II continue to top the league table and are aiming for promotional all the way this season.
Exmouth Jesters 1sts sit just behind them in the table in second place at present as they are two games behind the 2nds.
After a long wait between the first and second outings of the term owing to cancellations, Jesters senior team are keen to get their season started just as strongly as the seconds.
