Hughes and Thomas triumph in Exmouth Bridge Club Pairs Championshop

It has been an important past week for Exmouth Bridge Club, writes Carla Pickering.

Two significant events took place with the first being the second, and final, part of the 2014 Pairs championship resulted in Shelagh Hughes and Chris Thomas winning the event with an aggregate of 60.27 per cent with the runners-up being Brian Hughes and Teresa Tea with a score of 58.19 per cent.

The second major event took place last Friday when Jill Williams and Teresa Tea won the club Ladies Pairs with a score of 61.46 per cent.

The runners-up were Shelagh Hughes and Carla Pickering who achieved 58.33 per cent.

In the Men’s event Hugh Stedham and Terry Cannon emerged as the winners with 59.94 per cent followed by Dick Andrews and Phil Palmer who scored 57.56 per cent.
