Helen Hughes was the clear winner of the Ladies June County stableford at East Devon Golf Club, writes Helen Chivers.

Hughes recorded a five under par 41 points to come top of Bronze Division and the 78 strong field.

Barbara Middleditch was two points behind Hughes, taking second place in Bronze Division with 39 points. Maureen Reynolds was third on 37 points, with Sarah Jones taking forth on count back from Judy Robinson as both recorded 36 points.

Marilyn Hobbs was the winner in Silver Division with 37 points.

Hilary Greenaway took second spot with 34 points; beating Carole Brailey and Lisa Tinsley on count back. Clare Dowling was fifth with 33 points.

The ladies on handicaps between 29 and 36 were also competing for the Horton Trophy. Barbara Middleditch lifted this year’s trophy with her 39 points.
