The winner with 40 points was Keith Bish, just edging out Tony Marshall on 39.

The last men’s friendly match of the season was played away at Sherborne.

Whilst the result was a convincing win for Sherborne, most of the games were decided in the final two holes but the unfamiliarity of the tricky course finally wore down the Woodbury players.

All agreed it was a very enjoyable experience.

The weekend competition saw the start of the Winter Eclectic, a competition were players have five opportunities to maximise the points score on each of the 18 holes.

After count-back the men’s first division was won by John Dick (39) just edging out Chaz Turner.

Stephen Lloyd (39) took the second division just one point ahead of Phil Watson on 38. Pete Beaven’s excellent 41 gave him the third division with Paul Crocock (37) the runner-up.

The ladies’ first division was won by Sara Beaven (37) followed by Angela Mullerworth on 30 points. Louise Neilson (32) won the second division ahead of Kay Foster with 29 points.
