Brixington Blues Under-14 were beaten 4-2 by Willand Rovers in a pre-season friendly.
Blues gave a very good account of themselves against a side that play in the Taunton and District Youth League.
Twice through Tom O’Shea and the impressive Cameron brown, the Blues boys drew level after falling behind.
They shipped a third just before the break and conceded one more in the second half.
The two goal margin was harsh on the Blues who gave as good as they got throughout the contest.
Charlie Heaton was the stand-out player for the Blues causing all manner of problems down either flank.
Another player to stand out in the game was right sided defender James White.
The Blues begin a new season of Exeter and District football with a trip to CS United this Saturday morning.
