Three Exmouth Harriers were at Powderham Castle for the annual 10km run from there which benefits the Exeter based cancer charity FORCE, writes Dave Eveleigh.
Very unusually more than half of the 324 finishers were female (around 180).
Exmouth runner Ellie Sutcliffe was first of those females to finish in 39:15, a very respectable time on a course far from straight-forward.
More impressively Ellie was fourth overall.
Also well-up up the field was the club’s John Lambert, who was 40th overall in 45:33.
Alison Milborrow was in the top half of the field with her 156th place which she ran in 56:38, believed to be an inaugural personal best for the distance.
