Harriers’ Hill stars at Bath Half Marathon

The Bath Half Marathon has usually managed to be the venue for a Personal Best or two when Exmouth Harriers have visited it in recent years, writes Dave Eveleigh.

On Sunday (March 2) over 11,000 completed this year’s race. Among them were eight Exmouth Harriers.

The most impressive performance was by Susan Hill who was second of over 80 runners in the Women Age 55-59 category, in a new Personal Best time of 1:41:13. She was also well inside the top 2,000 of those 11,000 finishers.

Three other Harriers came close to PBs: Chris Dupain who was 621st in 90:57, Ben White, 1330th in 98:46 and Jane MacDonald, 1854th (and 22nd of 439 Women Age 45-49) in 1:43:03.

Hannah Bown’s and Emma White’s (partner of Ben) performances meant that the three Dupain siblings all finished within 10 minutes of each other. Hannah was 567th overall, 77th of nearly 5,000 women and eighth of nearly 600 Women Age 35-39 in a time of 90:47 while Emma White was 1493rd overall and 180th Female in 1:40:00. Nicholas Brown finished 1951st of all competitors in 1:43:18 and was 228th of nearly 600 Men Age 40-44. Amanda McCann was timed at 1:46:18 and was 2350th in the whole race but, 40th out of nearly 600 Women Age 40-44.
