Lisa Hatchard was over in West Devon for a new race, the Hanger Up and Down which replaces the Ivybridge Beacon Challenge, writes Dave Eveleigh.
Hatchard was seventh woman overall and first woman aged 35-39. Overall she was 42nd of 73 finishers in a time of 68:57 for about eight tough miles. It does sound as if up-hill is also up her street!
She celebrated her performance at the event with 500 metre of swimming, a free dip at a nearby pool being part of the entry deal here.
She said: “Eight hilly miles in mostly a torrential downpour and it was brilliant! A great route, well marshalled and lovely atmosphere, even a free swim after so did another half a kilometre in the pool.” When the going gets tough Lisa gets going!
