Withycombe 6:5 Teignmouth
Withycombe under 7s entertained Teignmouth on a bright morning, but with conditions under foot that were very heavy after overnight rain.
Due to being short of numbers Curtis Fraser very sportingly agreed to play for Teignmouth during the games.
The first game started very brightly for the home side who took the lead through Jamie Thompson who scored his first Withycombe try after some excellent support play from the whole team.
Tries were then exchanged between the sides with Jaydan Marles and Jack Greaves crossing for the young Withies and the sides went into the break at 3-3.
The second half was equally as close, with some excellent phases of play from both sides.
Withycombe were really getting to grips with the Teignmouth attacking with some brilliant tagging and good awareness of space and the touchline.
This helped to contain Teignmouth to just two scores in the half whilst Withy managed to cross the Teign’s line three times to land a 6-5 victory.
Jayden Marles and Jack Greaves both bagged a brace whilst the single scores came from Joe Gosling and Jamie Thompson.
