The format for the Woodbury Park seniors’ roll-up was a ‘Three Ball Team Stableford’, writes Carole Pye.
Norman Baker, Clive Hurley and Paul Gurgenven with 141 point were comfortable winners whilst Tony Marshall, Roy Barber and Austin Barrett took second place with 129 points.
The seniors were away at St Mellion for the return leg of their friendly game. The competition was very enjoyable with tight results on all the games, but the advantage of the course favoured a win for the home team.
Angela Bungard won the ladies’ roll-up competition with 42 points ahead of Marleen Johnson who took the runner-up position on count-back, having shared a score of 38 with Melissa Eccles.
The weekend competition, a ‘Pink Day Qualifier Stableford’ had a very good turnout. After count-back Gary Rice (39) took the first division, just nudging out John Dick.
Trevor Part, coming in with 40, edged the second division ahead of Neil Rice on 39.
Matthew Smith’s 40 won the third division, with John Fuller on 37 taking the runner-up position on count-back.
The ladies’ silver division winner was Sara Beaven with an excellent 43 ahead of Lyn Playford on 36.
With 35 points Kay Foster won the bronze division, just edging out Trish Chattey (34).
