The first ten minutes of the game were evenly matched, but infringements inside the Exe circle allowed Sidmouth to lead by two goals at half time.

Exe fought back in what became a feisty encounter with some splendid counter-attacking led by mid fielder, Helen Fyfe. It was Fyfe who scored next to make it 2-1.

The home side were quickly back on the front foot and Exe keeper Sally Turner had to be at her best to keep out many goal bound efforts.

However, she was eventually beaten following another infringement in the circle. Undeterred, the young Exe side continued to play with real tenacity. A penalty corner was won and Sarah Bennett slammed the ball home to make it 3-2. There was one more and that led to the home side completing the scoring.
