Exmouth United 4, Brixington Blues 2
Exmouth United Under-8s continued their unbeaten start to the season with a well earned victory over Brixington Blues.
In their first game against a very good Brixington side they took a first minute lead thanks to a superb 20-yard shot from skipper Joel Knott.
A well taken goal got Blues back into the game from a swift counter attacking move.
United then found a new gear and, with Man of the Match Bryn Stephens pulling the strings from a midfield berth, it was no surprise that he was involved in the build-up to a goal fro Lewis Fulls to put United 2-1 up.
Once again the Blues response was swift and clinical as they leveled with a well taken strike.
This promoted United to again step up the tempo and a superb cross-field pass from Carrick Howard found Lewis Fulls in acres of space and he advanced before firing past the Blues keeper to make it 3-2.
Brixington yet again looked for a reply, but now found United defensive duo Harry Kiflu Reynolds and Caleb Field equal to their best intentions.
In the closing stages Finley Clifford played a delightful ball through to Fulls who finished in style to seal a hat-trick and complete the scoring.
