The UK FootGolf Association (UKFGA) is holding the first ever National Rankings Tournament at Axe Cliff FootGolf course, Seaton, the first 18 hole FootGolf course in the South West.
The first event will be ‘kicking off’ on Sunday, April 20 at 1pm.
The event is scheduled to finish at 5pm (players taking part need to register at noon).
FootGolf is already played in numerous countries around the world, with the first tournaments being played in 2009, and having been introduced to the UK in 2012. The sport is played on a traditional golf course.
The UK’s first FootGolf tournament was held at Sewerby Hall and Gardens near Bridlington in September 2012 with players from around the UK and Hungary participating. The national governing body, UK FootGolf Association (UKFGA), implimented a National Rankings System to allow particpants to obtain rankings points in order gain access to both National and International Tournaments.
Selected FootGolf Courses throughout the UK will be holding monthly Rankings Tournaments from where the top players will be placed into a National Rankings League Table.
In September of this year, the current leaders of the National Rankings will win an all expenses paid trip to New York, America to represent the United Kingdon in the US FootGolf Open 2014.
Each event has a maximum of 100 particpants, so places are limited, and players of any age, and gender are invited to come along and participate, should they wish to try and progress in the sport.
The UKFGA will also welcome new players of all ages and sex, to participate in these events.
There will be an awards ceremony straight after the tournament, with food and drink available on site prior to and after the events.
The cost of entry is £15 per person for an 18-hole round of FootGolf, with guaranteed National Rankings Points for each participant.
