Inter Heavitree 1, Exmouth United 11.
Exmouth United Under-12s continued their powerful start to the new Exeter and District league season with another emphatic win.
United keeper Nick Eveleigh made a smart save to deny the Exeter side an early advantage. In a swift counter Adam Wilkinson tucked the ball way at the opposite end of the pitch to fire United ahead in the third minute.
Two minutes later Wilkinson struck again, this time with help from Jack May, Will Dean and Sam Cox.
Sam Balbi was then upended after a fine wing raid, but Wilkinson’s free-kick was parried, but Sam Cox could not find the finish. It was soon three though with a Rory Bland run resulting in Jack May netting.
The Exeter side came back into the game, but were clearly not as clinical in front of goal as the United players!
Jack May then bagged his second to make it 4-0 and the nap hand was brought up when another right wing raid led by Balbi resulted in Wilkinson scoring his hat-trick goal.
Smart defending by Kyle Barnsley denied Inter a goal back before a James Gill free-kick cannoned back off the crossbar.
Straight from the re-start Inter got a goal back, but that merely served as a wake-up call fro United who responded by adding a sixth courtesy of a Dominik Wach header, his first goal of the season.
A Wach corner was then put into his own net by the Inter keeper after good work from Will Dean and then Jack May chalked up his hat-trick after a good passing move to make it 7-1.
With 10 minutes remaining defender Kyle Barnsley rifled a shot in from 25-yards.
Sam Balbi’s corner was then headed home by Ben Daffin and the scoring was completed when Balbi turned the opposition defenders inside out before tucking the ball away for a fine solo effort.
