Brixington United Under-15s were good value for this victory in an Exeter and District Youth League game.

Both teams contributed plenty to an absorbing contest. A superb ball from Josh Bremmner set up Matt Smith to score the only goal of the first half.

Ryan Tullett’s clinical finish midway through the second half put Blues in charge.

Cully responded well and halved the deficit with a fine goal midway through the second half.

Thereafter Blues dug deep to close the game out very well with keeper Alex Trevenna equal to everything that came his way.

Blues boss Adam Miller said: “It really was a cracking game, one that could have gone either way. Once they (Cully) got one back they threw the kitchen sink at us, but we did very well to stand firm and young Alex (Trevanna) had a superb game in goal.”

Cullompton coach Paul Kirby said: “They (Blues) were the better team on the day and deserved it, but I am happy with the part we played in a cracking game.”
