Donning a brand new kit, sponsored by H Carter and Sons, along with new footballs, sponsored by Carlton Gararge, Budleigh Bicton Robins took to the pitch on home turf for the first time this season against an extremely young North Devon side.

The visitors opened the scoring with their first real chance on 25 minutes, but six minutes later skipper Chelcey Greasley delivered a superb free-kick to the far post where left winger Molly Jacobs applied the finish to leave things all square at the break.

Barum looked certain to take the lead again, but an excellent goal-line clearance by Greasley denied them.

At the other end Lucy Richardson took a short corner to Lucy Burch who returned it to Richardson and she curled a sweet shot into the corner of the net. Back came Barum only to be denied by Robins keeper Kath Binmore on a number of occasions.

The final goal of the game sealed the points and it was a well worked score. It began with another sweeping cross from Lucy Richardson, after Becky Barnsley won the ball on the edge of the box. The ball fell to Stacey Rogers and she drove it home from 25-yards.

Next up for the Ladies is this coming Sunday’s (September 23) home meeting with Bideford (3pm).

The Robins would like to thank their sponsors, H Carter and Sons and Carlton Garage for their generosity, and special thanks also to Nick Evans, team photographer and all-round supporter!
