Brixington Blues Under-13s edged an excellent contest in Exeter with a late Max Robertson penalty.

The Blues began well and took a first half lead when Robertson rifled home a shot from 35-yards.

The hosts responded well and levelled things up to send the sides into the break all square at 1-1.

In the second half both teams went looking for a winner, but it was Blues who bagged it with a penalty ten minutes for time that Robertson calmly slotted past the Pikes glovesman.

Right back Adam McGorigan and left winger Alan Roffey impressed for Blues.

The win lifts Blues into second place in the table.

On Saturday they entertain third bottom Westexe Youth.
