East Budleigh 1, Tiverton Town 6

East Budleigh were given a footballing lesson by an excellent Tiverton side last Saturday, writes Mark Auton.

Without key players Budleigh were forced to re-shuffle, but went close early on when Si Tuley flicked an effort over after Aaron Denny had got his head to a Dave Evans free-kick.

The visitors soon stamped their authority on proceedings with some fine football and went ahead in the 10th minute.

Four minutes later Evans was again involved when his cross was cleared as far as Paul Carnell who lifted the ball over the Tiverton keeper and into the net.

Despite the goal it was the away side that held the aces to regain the advantage just after the half hour.

Budleigh were then cut open too easily twice more before the break to give them a 4-1 lead.

Gary May and player manager Spencer West joined the action in the second half and it was the latter who came closest for Budleigh nodding just wide from another Evans set piece.

Tiverton added two further strikes in the half to run out comfortable winners.

On Saturday Budleigh entertain Bow looking for a morale boosting win.
