Ken Wicks, goodbye to a Blues stalwart.

15:58 21 February 2012

Brixington Blues Youth Football Club were very saddened to hear of the passing of Ken Wicks.

Blues Chairman Richard Taylor said: “We were all so sorry to hear of the death of Ken. He was a real club stalwart who had served as Club Secretary and team coach and manager for six years between 19989 and 2004. He was also an FA qualified coach and fully fledged referee. Everybody connected with the club would like to send heart felt condolences to Jan, Ken’s wife and their family.”

Taylor continued: “Gareth and Alex Wicks both played for Blues with great distinction for many years and there’s little doubt that the commitment Ken made to the fabric of Blues is why they are the success they most certainly are today.”
