Exmouth United Under-8s continued their unbeaten start to the season with good performances against Hemyock and West Hill Wasps.

First up against Hemyock the positive play was led from an energetic midfield, particularly by skipper Joel Knott who displayed excellent vision and awareness which helped to launch a series of attacks that ended with Knott and Lewis Fulls trading passes prior to Fulls slotting the opening goal.

One quickly became two as Carrick Howard tucked away a cross from Jared Guy .

The Mid Devon side rallied, but got little change out of the impressive Harry Kiflu Reynolds’ defensive work. The youngster was quick to spot situations and broke down any Hemyock raids with real assertiveness.

After then break United continued to use the full width of the pitch. However, a mixture of stout Hemyock defending and some excellent goal keeping, denied them further goals until a Cayleb pass found Finley Clifford and he applied a smart finish to seal a 3-0 win.

In the game against West Hill Wasps it was Man of the Match Carrick Howard who sparkled on the wing. United attacked at will, but found the Wasps’ keeper in outstanding form. On the break the wasps took the lead.

Undaunted, United continued to pepper the Wasps goal. Knott, Clifford, Fulls and Howard all rattled the frame of the goal, before, with time running a superb through-ball from Knott released Howard and he tucked the ball home to preserve the United unbeaten run.
