Exmouth Town overcome errors to avoid cup exit with seven goals in North Devon

Chittlehampton 3, Exmouth Town 7
This was a potential banana skin that Town eventually overcame to bag a place in the next round of the Graddon Vending Devon Premier Cup, but not without a couple of slips along the way, writes John Dibsdall.
From the kick off Town opened up the home defence for Ace High to score.
However, the first of a number of mistakes led to an equaliser within two minutes but Town responded well and a goal from Ben Clay restored the Town lead with just seven minutes on the clock.
Town’s generosity continued and, a minute later the scores were level!
The early goal action was not over for, on 11 minutes an unstoppable drive from twenty yards by Karl Rickard once again edged Town in front.
Town added to their tally on twenty eight minutes when Lloyd Gardner went past two players before adding the fourth.
That completed the scoring in a frenetic first half of goals at either end!
Three minutes into the second half Gardner set up Dan Boere for the fifth and then Adam Hill made a penetrating run and cross for Ace to score his second.
With the referee overruling an offside flag the hosts scored their third, but it was left to Hill to outpace the defence and score Town’s seventh with two minutes remaining.
