Mixed fortunes for Exmouth Town and Budleigh on the third Saturday of December in the South West Peninsula League Eastern Divison.

Exmouth Town continued their magnificent season with a 3-2 success at Newton Abbot Spurs.

It was the third time this season that the Southern Road side have faced Spurs and it’s a hat-trick of triumphs after another close encounter.

Not such good news fro the Budleigh Salterton camp as the Robins were thumped 5-1 at home by Appledore and as a result lose top spot in the Eastern Division table to new leaders Axminster Town.

Exmouth Town are now well placed to carry their dominance through to the end of the season.

The trip to Newton Abbot Spurs brought up the completion of the first third of a thirty game run that will hopefully end with the title being raised at Southern Road next April.

Make sure of your copy of the Exmouth Journal – out next On Thursday December 20, for match reports on both the Town and Budleigh games.
