Exmouth Town 6, Cullompton Rangers 0

Exmouth Town extended their unbeaten run to one of a dozen outings with a comprehensive defeat of the Mid Devon visitors on Good Friday morning, writes John Dibsdall.

Dan Boer was the individual star of the show as he netted four of the goals! At the other end of the pitch this latest clean sheet means Town have now gone over seven hours without conceding a goal!

The opening twenty minutes saw Town gradually gain the initiative and should have gone ahead when Boere lobbed the stranded ‘keeper but his effort hit the side netting.

Town went ahead on twenty six minutes when a deep cross from Jamie Moore was headed home at the far post by Karl Rickard. Two minutes later Town doubled their lead when Boere won the ball on the edge of the penalty box and fired home.

The goal of the match came on fifty five minutes. Rickard won the ball in a challenge and as it broke Boere hit a twenty-two yard screamer with swerve into the top corner. Ace High, who had just come on as sub, scored with his second touch of the ball on seventy minutes and four minutes later it was five as Boere completed his hat trick with a header from an Ian Patchett free kick. Town were now in complete control and Boere completed the scoring on eighty minutes when he glanced home another pin point cross from Moore.

Whilst Boere will rightly earn the plaudits for his goals the Man of the Match award could easily have gone to Danny Clay for his all round domination of the mid field area. Another pleasing sight was the re-appearance in a Town shirt of Ben Clay coming off the bench for the last fifteen minutes a year since he suffered serious knee ligament damage.
