Exmouth Amateurs 3, Ottery St Mary 1

Exmouth Amateurs Under-12s eased their way into the last eight of the Exeter and District Youth League Cup with a fine all-round performance in an entertaining derby.

Ammies started well, but it was the Otters that took the lead through a well worked goal midway through the first half.

The Ammies reply was instant as, straight from the restart they moved the ball sweetly to the other end of the pitch where Sam Wheeler poked the ball home to ensure half-time arrived with honours even.

Ammies began the second period with a higher tempo, but the visitors carried a threat and went close before a deflected shot from Danny Lewis put Ammies in front for the first time in the game.

Victory was sealed with 10 minutes to go when Max Handford scored.

This Saturday sees Ammies Brixington next up at home.
