Exmouth United Under-12s secured a seventh victory in eight home outings as they powered to a 5-1 success over Copplestone Colts.
After coming through a slow start, United began to move the ball swiftly to create chances. With the back line of Dylan Mogford, Harry Kifli-Reynolds, Owen Brady and Jack Greaves, allowing no time and space to the visiting attackers, it was no surprise when United opened the scoring. Finn Glanfield played a neat one-two with Bryn Stephens before blasting the ball home from 20 yards.
Glanfield then had a header cleared off the line when he connected cleanly with a Stephens corner.
Early in the second half the visitors levelled, but United hit straight back and, when Stephens raided down the right wing, he delivered a fine cross that was palmed away by the goalkeeper only to fall for Jay Leballeur to drill home.
With the lead restored, United settled down and played with composure. A slick passing move ended with striker Cayleb Field making it 3-1 before his fellow striker, Kuba Strzalkowski thumped home a cross from Greaves.
The Mid Devon side attempted to hit back, but got little change out of the impressive defending of Harry Bassett, right-back Tom Price and goalkeeper Lewis Alford.
With the clock ticking down Seb Harrison picked up the ball on the right wing and swerved his way in and out of the visiting defence until he reached the six-yard box where he unselfishly squared the ball to Stephens. The Stephens effort was well saved by the Copplestone goalkeeper who then saw his defenders block a Kifli Reynolds effort before the ball fell to Lewis Evans who powered it home to round off a polished all-round performance from United.
