Exmouth United 1, Honiton Demons 5

Exmouth United Under-10s dished up a virtuoso performance to bag a last eight place in the Exeter and District youth league cup. From the first whistle the United passing and movement was exceptional and saw them take control.

The early pressure soon told with skipper Sammy Pratt working his way up-field from his defensive berth before unleashing a 25-yard strike that hit the back of the net with such venom that it almost knocked the goal over!

With Harry Williams orchestrating things from central midfield United were now in complete charge and it was no surprise when a fine pass from Kian Davey provided Williams with the chance to rifle home the second goal.

After the break the game followed a similar pattern of play with United in the ascendency. Williams struck again to make it 3-0 with George Phillips providing the assist. It was so nearly four when Jared Guy thundered a header against the crossbar following a corner. Guy was not to be denied though and, after neat approach play involving Ben Siribui and Kyle Pearcy, Guy tucked away the fourth.

Just before the end of the game Adam Brown netted the fifth and final goal.

It was very encouraging to see Joey Bowden return from injury and he slotted seamlessly back into his berth in the side.
