Exmouth Town’s South West Peninsula League Premier Division losing run was extended to eight games as they lost a Friday night visit to Plymouth Parkway 4-1.

Town were 4-0 down after just 35 minutes with the champions-elect netting an n11th minute twice taken penalty, two free-kicks and a free header at the far post from a corner.

Town improved significantly after the break and deservedly got a goal back with yet another strike from striker Ace High.

Sadly, that High goal was as good as it got and Town slipped to their eighth successive league defeat.

In terms of relegation there seems little chance of that happening as current basement side Witheridge look set to finish in that position and, of the current top three in the Eastern Division (to where Exmouth Town would slip if they had finished in bottom spot), only one – Newton Abbot Spurs have applied for promotion and had their ground graded and passed as suitable for the Premier Division.

Prior to this current eight game losing run, the last time Town took anything from a league game was back on December 9 when they drew 1-1 at Southern Road with Callington Town and, seven days before, on December 2, came the last Town success, a 2-1 home win over Ivybridge Town.

Exmouth are back in action this coming Wednesday (April18) when they host Camelford with kick-off at Southern Road being 7.45pm.
