Exmouth Town’s South West Peninsula League (SWPL) Premier Division game at home to Godolphin Atlantic was called off after a mid-morning pitch inspection and that means more frustration for Town bosses Andy Rawlings and Kevin Miller.
Town are next set for action on the final Saturday of the month (January 27) when they are scheduled to entertain Camelford at Southern Road (3pm).
The last time Town played was on Saturday, December 9 when they drew 1-1 with Callington Town.
That means that, heading into next Saturday’s game, Town will be 47 days without a game!
The SWPL has seen just two games played across the first three Saturday match days of this year so far!
Indeed, since Boxing Day – a period of 25 days (as at Saturday, January 20) – only three matches have been played in the Premier Division, two of them at Stoke Gabriel and the other at Helston Athletic.
Budleigh Salterton Reserves home game against Tipton St John was called off mid-morning too and Sunday’s Devon Cup tie for the Budleigh Salterton ladies, set to be at Horrabridge, has also been called off and that means, under the cup rules, that semi-final tie now switches to Greenway Lane next Sunday (January 28).
