Budleigh went top of the fledgling South West Peninsula League Eastern Division on Tuesday night.

That’s because they won the East Devon derby against Sidmouth Town at Manstone Road 1-0.

The only goal of a close contest was scored by Carl Everest

The win comes hot on the heels of Saturday’s opening day 2-2 draw at Greenway Lane with Plymstock United.

This Saturday the Robins are again at home when they entertain Newton Abbot Spurs (3pm).
