Alphington 1, East Budleigh 2

A brace of second half goals from Man of the Match Josh Sale gave East Budleigh the points in this Fresha Division One encounter at Alphington, writes Mark Auton.

Budleigh began the game well with Aiden Martin having the best opportunity, but it was the hosts that took a half-time lead against the run of play.

Ten minutes after the re-start Budleigh were level when Sale struck an exquisite free-kick around the wall and into the net, but the game could have gone either way with Alphington always a threat.

A second Sale goal from wide on the right saw him find the top corner for his third in two games.

Damien Mortimore, Dan Reynolds, Mike White and Martin all worked tirelessly for the cause alongside Sale in a five man midfield, whilst loan frontman Dan Atkinson also chased every ball.

Harry Trick and Jack Howarth produced fine cameo performances from the bench for an East Budleigh side who will look to register another three points when they entertain Exeter University at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
