East Budleigh Reserves suffer bad day at the office

10:45 13 March 2014

It was a bad day at the office for East Budleigh Reserves who were beaten by a side that wanted it more and that were first to every ball, writes Mark Auton.

Things could have been different though had Budleigh scored first; On three occasions in the first tem minutes one on one situations saw Joe Rosser fire wide and unluckily hit a post, whilst Ben Wilks after taking the ball past the keeper was unable to find the breakthrough.

Two minutes later a wonder goal gave Budleigh keeper Mark Bown no chance and this seemed to dent Budleigh’s confidence.

The away side continued to bully Budleigh without creating a lot, but went into the break ahead.

Budleigh sent on Matt Thomas and Rory Waite and it was the former who saw Paul May nod just over from his well struck corner kick.

Gary Western almost got lucky when his long range ball had to be clawed over by the visiting stopper.

A killer second goal for the Exeter side came when Budleigh failed to clear a corner and a breakaway third completed the scoring.

Budleigh visit Priory on Saturday with Manager Colin Jeans asking for more commitment from his players.
