The South West Peninsula League Eastern Division makes superb reading for followers of Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth Town after the latest round of matches.

Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth Town sit first and second in the South West Peninsula League Eastern Division table.

The pair both won on the second Saturday of November to bag the top two berths in the table.

The Robins were 2-1 winners at Plymstock United whilst for Town there was a second successive victory over Axminster Town as the in-form visiting Tigers were put down in some style at Southern Road as Richard Pears’ men won 4-0.

To make things even sweeter in terms of the pair’s table positions there were also defeats for both Newton Abbot Spurs and Teignmouth Town.

Here on the Journal website on the eve of his sides meeting with Axminster Town Pears had said that he feared three teams in particular that could pip his side to the top honour. He named Teignmouth, Newton Abbott and Stoke Gabriel as the three he felt would be there or thereabouts come next April.
