Budleigh Salterton head into their Boxing Day meeting with Sidmouth Town (11am) looking to continue their push towards a top two berth in the South West Peninsula League Eastern Division.

The year of 2017 has been a good one for the Robins and they are moving forward off the pitch in similar fashion as they are set to celebrate at the derby game their new kit sponsorship deal with local business Urban Earth.

The Robins will complete their year of action with the Boxing Day against the Vikings.

In terms of being crowned the ‘top side in East Devon’ in terms of the SWPL eastern Division campaign, Budleigh go into the meeting with Sidmouth Town yet to be beaten in derby games this season.

In stark contrast, Sidmouth Town are yet to win having lost home and away to Honiton Town and drawn with Axminster Town.

Before the derby with the Vikings, the Robins are in action this Saturday (December 23) when they travel to meet St Martins (2.15pm).

The Exminster-based outfit begin the game sitting fifth in the tale, one place and one point better off than Budleigh.

The Robins can lay claim to being the joint top scorers in the Eastern Division to date having netted 49 in their 17 games – a figure only matched by University who have also scored 49 – but have played a game more than the Greenway Lane men.

Budleigh are without a game on the final Saturday of the year and start their 2018 schedule with a January 6, visit to Brixham.
