Budleigh playing final Saturday home game

PUBLISHED: 11:38 07 March 2018

Budleigh Salterton were without a game last Saturday on a day when the entire South West Peninsula League fixture schedule was lost to the snow.

The Robins are better placed than most for they have just nine more matches to play in their Eastern Division programme, starting with this coming Saturday’s Greenway Lane home game against Appledore (3pm).

The meeting with Appledore is actually Budleigh’s final Saturday home league game of the season!

After Saturday’s game, the Robins will have just two more home games and six away matches to play in their league campaign.

The other two home games are both midweek affairs with Axminster Town the visitors on Wednesday, April 4, and Torridgeside the visitors on Wednesday, April 18.

The remaining six away games take the Robins to Bovey Tracey (March 17), Torridgeside (March 24), Sidmouth (April 20) – this game being one of the Groundhop weekend when the crowd will be swelled at Sidmouth by over 100 Groundhoppers - Axminster (April 14), Ilfracombe (April 21), and for their final outing of the Eastern Division season Budleigh are at Galmpton and Roselands on Saturday, April 28.

Budleigh head into Saturday’s meeting with Appledore sitting third in the table, seven points behind leaders St Martins, who have played two games fewer and four points behind second-placed Newton Abbot Spurs, who have played four games fewer.
