Last Sunday’s Westward Developments Devon Women League Division 1 match between Budleigh Salterton Ladies and Elmore Ladies was called off due to Elmore’s withdrawal from the league, writes SpursTom.

The good news for Budleigh as it strengthen their chances in the race for the title, main rivals Activate are one of the four teams who will have points and goal differences adjusted as a result of the Eagles demise.

Sadly, and more importantly, another team has had to be disbanded making it three this season from the same division along with Seaton Town Women and Stoke Gabriel Ladies, this shows how clubs are struggling to keep afloat.

The men’s game has also suffered with several teams having pulled out of the Fresh Devon and Exeter League this season.

Budleigh Ladies wish to thank H Carter and Sons for their sponsorship and support, and hope to continue the good relationship.

The girls are looking for more sponsors and players, and would be pleased to hear from any interested parties.

Forthcoming fixtures this weekend; on Saturday Budleigh Salterton Reserves are away to league leaders Newtown, then on Sunday the ladies make the trip to Torquay to take on Plainmoor.
