Brixington Blues Under-13s were in sparkling form as they defeated Exmouth United 16-0 in an Exeter and District Youth League game.

Blues began the game on the front foot and only a fine save by the United glovesman denied Ethan Beverley an early goal. Beverley then set up Zac Brown, who fired wide before United launched a counter-attack that skipper Jake Haggerty did well to stop in its tracks.

Elliott Bowyer and skipper Haggerty were involved in the build-up to Beverley firing Blues into the lead.

Zac Brown doubled the advantage before Joel Knott provided the assist for a second from Beverley. With Blues goalkeeper Russ Bracey showing excellent communication skills behind the defensive line of Finn Glanfield, Harrison Fox and Lewis Ayley, there was no way back into the contest for United and they fell further behind when Haggerty played in Brown to score his second and a Thomas Rowsell assist set up Brown to complete his hat-trick and make it 6-0. A superb long-range effort from Haggerty made it seven and it was soon eight with Joe Gosling providing the assists and Brown the finish. Ben Geare and Jack Drew-Cull linked up to set up Knott to make it 9-0 and the score was into double figures after a long-range Eliott Bowyer goal. Ten became 11 with Bowyer netting again and it was soon 12-0 with Joe Gosling scoring after a fine initial save from the United glovesman.

Haydon Simpson provided the raking pass that Beverley took in his strike before rifling the ball home and another Brown finish made it 14-0. A long-range strike by Lewis Ayley made it 15-0 and Brown netted his sixth of the game to complete then scoring
