Brixington Blues won a second cup tie in the space of 24 hours when they followed up a Saturday Exeter and District Youth League Cup win with a 5-4 success against Braunton Wanderers United in the Devon County Under-13 cup.

Blues made a stunning start and took a 30-second lead thanks to an Ethan Beverley goal.

However, Braunton were soon back on level terms when a long distance strike gave Blues glovesman Russ Bracey no chance.

The lead was regained after some initial work by Jack Drew-Cull and Oliver Bradley prior to Beverley netting his second, but back came Braunton and, despite some excellent defending by Jonty Wright and Finn Glanfield, the scores were soon back all square at 2-2.

Braunton the took the lead for the first time in the contest, but, in an end-to-end contest, it was soon 3-3 with Bradley netting for Blues.

Once again Braunton edged ahead with the seventh goal of the game before Ben Geare provided a pass that was latched onto by Jake Haggerty and the Blues striker rifled it home to make it 4-4.

With extra-time looming a cross was swung deep into the Braunton area where it was met by the head of Zac Brown and the ball flew past the goalkeeper to seal a terrific 5-4 win for the Blues.

Post match there were plenty of plaudits thrown around about a superb weekend for the Blues, who left manager Dave Haggerty and Brixington Blues club chairman Richard Taylor mighty proud!
