Pinhoe Sharks 0, Exmouth United 8

Exmouth United Under-12s continued their excellent start to the season with another emphatic victory.

Pinhoe Sharks fielded four new players, each experiencing their first taste of youth league football.

United were quickly into their stride and could have gone ahead as early as the first minute when Ben Daffin’s attempt flew just over the bar.

Minutes later Daffin did indeed find the net when he pounced on a loose ball after an Adam Wilkinson shot was parried by the home keeper.

It might have been two almost immediately, but Dominik Wach’s shot was straight at the glovesman. Then a Kyle Barnsley cross was turned home by Daffin only for the linesman’s flag to be raised for an off-side.

Next up a long punt forward from United keeper Nick Eveleigh saw Adam Wilkinson race clear only to be denied by a superb save by the Pins keeper. Wilkinson did not have long to wait to score though, striking the ball well to make it 2-0.

Will Dean then won his side a corner and when the Wilkinson set-piece was delivered into the area, Sam Balbi tucked the bal away to make it 3-0.

There was one more score before the break with Dean netting to send United in at half-time 4-0 to the good.

Early in the second half Sam Balbi served up a mesmeric piece of skill before firing his sides fifth and three further goals followed inside five minutes as Dean bagged his second before the lively Balbi struck twice to put a polished finish on another comprehensive victory for United.
