A fine win on the road for the Cockles and an impressive draw for Withy at home to Tivvy on the second Saturday of the month.
Exmouth continued their hot pursuit of London Irish Amateurs at the top of the National Three (SW) table with a 19-15 victory at Chippenham.
The Cockles did fail to bag the bonus point and so slipped a place to third behind Weston-super-mare on goal difference, but the Cockles have a game in hand.
Matt Ryan bagged a brace of tries and Jon Fabian also crossed the home chalk line whilst Andrew Powell’s trusty boot tucked away two conversions.
With five games to play the Cockles are well placed for a top two finish which could well earn promotion at the end of the campaign.
Withycombe ended a miserable run of defeats with a richly deserved share of the spoils in a 10-10 draw with Tiverton at Raleigh Park.
The Withy points were made up of a penalty try together with a conversion and a penalty from Jack Pugsley.
Make sure of your copy of the Exmouth Journal – out next on Thursday, March 14, to get the reports and post-match comment from the Cockles and Withycombe camps.
