Exmouth United 7, St Martins 1
Exmouth United eased their way into the last eight of the Exeter and District Youth League Under-13 Cup.
This was a contest that came to life in the second half. After neither side could breach the others impressive back line in the first half, it was Harvey Russel who fired the hosts ahead.
Sam Skinner then struck twice in as many minutes to put United in charge.
The Saints were back in front shortly after, but, once Russell netted his second, the home side took control of proceedings.
Cameron Simpson and Tom Aiden also scored goals whilst Russell completed his hat-trick and the impressive Joe Paver was denied by four splendid saves from the St Martins glovesman as United sealed a comfortable victory and a place in the last eight of the Cup.
United boss Steve Paver said: “It was a close first half and they took some breaking, but in the second half I felt we fully merited out victory. The Saints keeper was outstanding.”
