South West Peninsula Premier division boys Exmouth Town have been drawn to play League Two side Exeter City in the St Luke’s Bowl, writes Mark Briggs.
Richard Pears and his men will be relishing at the prospect of playing an Exeter City XI at the home of one of Devon’s biggest grounds.
For the first time, sides in the Football League (Exeter City, Plymouth Argyle and Torquay United) have been allowed to play home matches against lower opposition. This comes at a great time for Town, not only do the players and manager get to experience the huge tie but any fans who wish to attend the game are welcome to as well.
The second round tie will take place on Wednesday October 16 at St James Park, with a 7.30pm kick-off. Entry prices will be arranged in due course and the match referee will be Paul Lister.
The other ties in round two see the holders Plymouth Argyle host Devon’s fourth best placed side Bideford, Torquay United are also at home but instead to Ilfracombe Town and Elmore face rivals Tiverton Town in what is sure to be an interesting tie.
