Exmouth Town continue their quest for South West Peninsula League honours this Saturday when Tavistock are the visitors to Southern Road (3pm), writes John Dibsdall.
Town will be looking to extend their six match unbeaten run against the side they met on the opening day of the season.
On that occasion goals from Lloyd Gardner, Ace High and a brace from Dan Boere saw Town recover from being a goal down at the break to win 4-1 and get their new campaign off to a winning start.
The visitors fielded a youthful side that day and have continued to find life difficult with two wins and three draws from their seventeen league fixtures.
With Town without a game last Saturday and the fixture list curtailed through cup competitions Witheridge took full advantage and their win at Cullompton has seen them climb to second in the table and push Town down to fourth although Town have two games in hand on the mid-Devon side.
The following week title favourites Plymouth Parkway are the visitors to Southern Road.
Town’s reserves side exited from the Devon Senior Cup losing 2-0 to Park United from the North Devon Senior League.
Missing several regulars they put up a spirited performance and had a first half penalty when the tie was goalless been converted they may have been in the draw for the quarter-finals.
